Whether your client is the buyer or seller, knowing just a
few radon basics can calm any concerns and keep your sale on track.
Be Prepared!
A realtor’s best defense is to be prepared and know about radon. To help you be prepared, watch the Breathing Easy Video below and review the Home Buyer’s and Seller’s Guide
to Radon.
Just Another Home Repair!
If radon tests come back and mitigation is needed treat, it is a routine home repair. Just as other home repairs can be fixed, such as a leaky roof, a radon reduction system can easily be installed to reduce radon levels. A radon system can be one of the least expensive home repairs with an average cost of $800-$1,200.
Be Informed!
Your client will look to you for answers involving radon. You can look to Mock’s Radon Reduction, Inc. to answer any questions or calm any fears. There is absolutely NO reason for a buyer to allow elevated radon levels to keep from purchasing their dream home. If a radon system is properly installed, it should add value to the home and in no way diminish any resale value.
